SOBE+ v1.0_Beta (Furniture Mass Customization) Design Team: Fabio Schillaci, Niels Fischer, Alessandra Raponi Web-master:Roberto Pelliccia (Naivstudio) SOBE+ is an on-line software that allows users to create the information necessary to build a “SOBE”. SOBE is a soft and gently flexible landscape for relaxing that users can customize on-line in form, materials and colours. Not as a common mass customization system, SOBE+ use digital technologies to involve its users in making the catalogue and does not sell them the physical good, but information to build it. The ultimate aim of SOBE+ is to demonstrate that a new industrial paradigm is today possible thanks to digital media: a participatory and distributed paradigm which opens news scenarios – ecologic in the wider sense of the word – and that uses digital technologies for their communicational potential.
